     James Forbes was born on 16 July 1551. He was the son of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Robert Forbes was born on 1 January 1554/55. He was the son of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Abraham Forbes was the son of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Jean Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Elizabeth Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Christian Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Margaret Douglas was born in Glenbervie, Scotland. She was the daughter of Sir Robert Douglas.¹ Margaret Douglas married Sir Thomas Burnet, son of Alexander Burnet and Katherine Gordon, in 1610.¹ Margaret Douglas died before 1621.¹ She was the 4th-great-granddaughter of King James I of Scotland.¹

      Sir Thomas Burnet was also known as 1st Baronet of Leys.¹ He was born circa 1580. He was the son of Alexander Burnet and Katherine Gordon.¹ Sir Thomas Burnet married Margaret Douglas, daughter of Sir Robert Douglas, in 1610.¹

     Catherine Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Margaret Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Barbara Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     Anne Forbes was the daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Keith.

     William Gordon was the son of Sir Adam Gordon and Annabella Unknown.¹

     Barbara Gordon was born in 1577. She was the daughter of John Gordon and Isobel Forbes.

     John Gordon was born circa 1517 in Pitlurg, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of Robert Gordon and Jean Stewart. John Gordon married Janet Ogilvie, daughter of James Ogilvie and Elisabeth Gordon, between 1542 and 1543. John Gordon died on 10 September 1547 in the Battle of Pinkie Cleugh, Musselburg, Midlothian, Scotland. He was probably the last of our line to die doing battle with the English. This was the last major engagement of the Scottish-English wars.

     Janet Ogilvie was born circa 1521. She was the daughter of James Ogilvie and Elisabeth Gordon. Janet Ogilvie married John Gordon, son of Robert Gordon and Jean Stewart, between 1542 and 1543.

     Robert Gordon was born circa 1479 in Pitlurg, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Gordon and Barbara Forbes. Robert Gordon married Jean Stewart, daughter of John Stewart and Eleanor Sinclair. Robert Gordon died in 1544.

     Jean Stewart was born circa 1481. She was the daughter of John Stewart and Eleanor Sinclair. Jean Stewart married Robert Gordon, son of John Gordon and Barbara Forbes.

     John Gordon was born circa 1449 in Scurdargue, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Gordon and Elizabeth Abernethy. John Gordon married Barbara Forbes, daughter of Sir Alexander Forbes and Maria Jane Hey. John Gordon died on 9 September 1513 in the Battle of Flodden, Branxton, Northumberland, England. He was killed in the Battle of Flodden Field, fighting against Henry VIII, in which King James IV of Scotland was also killed along with many Scottish nobles and about 10,000 soldiers.

     Barbara Forbes was born circa 1451 in Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Sir Alexander Forbes and Maria Jane Hey. Barbara Forbes married John Gordon, son of John Gordon and Elizabeth Abernethy.

      John Gordon was also known as John of Auchleuchires. He was born between 1390 and 1409 in Scurdargue, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of John (Jock) Gordon and Elizabeth Maitland.¹ John Gordon married Elizabeth Abernethy.

     Elizabeth Abernethy was born in 1415 in Scurdargue, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She married John Gordon, son of John (Jock) Gordon and Elizabeth Maitland.

      John (Jock) Gordon was also known as Jock o' Scurdargue.¹ He was born circa 1371 in Scurdargue, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of Sir John Gordon and Elizabeth Cruikshanks.¹ John (Jock) Gordon married Elizabeth Maitland, daughter of Robert Matulant.¹ John (Jock) Gordon married Hainult Macleod.¹ John (Jock) Gordon died in 1420. He was known as "Jock of Scurdargue". Along with his brother he is considered the line of the "true Gordons", as opposed to the Gordons of Huntly who actually assumed the Gordon name after marrying into the family on the female side.¹

     Elizabeth Maitland was born circa 1370 in Netherdale, Scotland. She was the daughter of Robert Matulant. Elizabeth Maitland married John (Jock) Gordon, son of Sir John Gordon and Elizabeth Cruikshanks.¹ Elizabeth Maitland died circa 1440.

     Sir John Gordon was born in Strathbogie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was the son of Sir John Gordon and Elizabeth Somervell.¹ Sir John Gordon married (?) Unknown.¹ Sir John Gordon and Elizabeth Cruikshanks were possibly married circa 1340.¹ Sir John Gordon died on 22 July 1388 in Otterburn, Northumberland, England. He was killed by the English in retaliation for raids and warfare in the north of that country.

     Elizabeth Cruikshanks was born circa 1328 in Aswanley, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She and Sir John Gordon were possibly married circa 1340.¹ Elizabeth Cruikshanks died circa 1390. She was John's second partner, but it is not clear if she was actually his wife. Her children were considered "illegitimate" as far as inheritance was concerned.¹

     Sir Alexander Gordon was born in 1285 in Scotland. He was the son of Sir Adam Gordon and Annabella Unknown.¹ Sir Alexander Gordon died on 17 October 1346 in the Battle of Durham, Durham, Scotland.¹

     Maria Jane Hey married Sir Alexander Forbes.

     Sir Alexander Forbes married Maria Jane Hey.

      Thomas Gordon was also known as Tam o' Ruthven.¹ He was born circa 1352. He was the son of Sir John Gordon and Elizabeth Cruikshanks.¹ Thomas Gordon married Unknown Hay, daughter of James Hay.¹ Thomas Gordon married Unknown Innes, daughter of Sir Walter Innes.¹ Thomas Gordon married Unknown Chisholm.¹ Thomas Gordon married Unknown Mackay.¹ Along with his brother, he is considered among the line of the "true Gordons" as opposed to the Gordons of Huntly who assumed the name after marrying into the Gordon family through the female side. Thomas had as many as sixteen sons by four different wives.¹
