Many statues of French historical figures as well.

  • Notre Dame
One of the classis Parisian sights, but very crowded on a weekend day, and one of the first warm days of Spring.

  • Notre Dame Rose Window
  • Mass in Notre Dame
Note the projection screen above the altar. Did the Vatican order all churches to install Jumbotrons?
  • Notre Dame
From a park at the back side of Notre Dame. You can see the famous flying buttresses that are a principal part of the construction.
  • Notre Dame
  • Crepe Making
We ate a lunch of crepes made while we waited at an open-air cafe.
  • Bridge to Ile St. Louis
This is the second island in the Seine, connected to the Ile de la Cite by a short bridge. There is commercial traffic as well as tourist boats on the river.
  • Ile St. Louis
    Glace (ice cream)!
  • Ile St. Louis
Standing at the upsteam end of the island.
  • Rive Gauche
A view of the Ile St. Louis from the left bank of the river. This is where the previous picture was taken: in the park at the end of the island. Lots of people were enjoying the warmth and sunshine.
  • Latin Quarter
A stop for a quick coffee at one of the ubiquitous outdoor cafes.
  • Rive Gauche
A walk down alongside the river, with Pont Neuf up ahead.
  • The Kiss
Rodin's famous sculpture again, this time in bronze. Artwork everywhere you turn in Paris!
  • Orangerie Museum
This museum primarily houses Monet's famous Water Lilies paintings, which are quite large. The longer you look at them, the more interesting they become.
