     Robert Armstrong was born in 1723 in Virginia. He was the son of Robert Armstrong and Lydia Louden. Robert Armstrong married Jane Jameson, daughter of John Jameson and Jane Irwin, circa 1765 in Augusta Co., Virginia. Robert Armstrong was in military service in the Revolutionary War.1 He died on 30 April 1811 in Fleming Co., Kentucky.1 He was buried in Brick Union Cemetery, Fleming Co., Kentucky.1,2 The copy of his will is notable in that he leaves the services of one of his slaves to his wife -- one example of the use of slaves on the farms in Kentucky.3
