     John Barclay was born in 1659 in Urie, Scotland.1 He emigrated to the East Jersey Colony, probably due to the relationship with his brother, the proprietor Robert Barclay of Urie.1,2 He married Katherine Gordon between 1699 and 1702.1 John Barclay died circa 22 April 1731 in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey.1
